Will Debbie Pelt be as crazy on HBO’s True Blood as she was in the books? — Tommy
MICKEY: I’m hearing yes, but not initially. Brit Morgan’s debut will be somewhat restrained, and her character’s quick temper and jealous streak will unveil themselves gradually. But once they do, watch out. “I’m going on a rampage against Sookie,” Morgan tells us. “I’m not too happy with her.”

Latest scoop from Kristen at EW!

George in Michigan: Alright, give it to me straight. What’s the deal with Sam’s little brother on True Blood?
What, you mean little ol’ Tommy? He’s harmless—in the sociopath, crazy-person sorta way! Marshall Allman, aka Sam’s little bro Tommy, is in it for the long haul this season, and a source tells us he intends on “bringing Bon Temps to its knees.” Sounds fun, right? “I go in and have a lot of fun,” Marshall tells us. “There’s not an impulse that I don’t act on. I’m tons of fun. And then I’ll take your wallet, [and] I’ll also steal your girl.” Yes, we’re hearing some girl-stealing is afoot. Any guesses as to which lovely lady Tommy might have on his arm? Hands off Sookie, L.J., or we’ll tell your Dad! (A little old-timey Prison Break humor brought to you by Wentworth’s abs.)

Julie in Toronto: True Blood, please.
Marshall tells us he’ll be around well into the “shocking” season finale, and that even though he’ll do some pwetty tewibble things to Bon Temps during his stay (yep, he’s moving in!), don’t judge too quickly. “People will see that I have a heart, but they’re just going to be frustrated that I’m not being who I was meant to be,” he says, “I suffered a lot of dysfunction, and I just need a lot of love.” Sources have also revealed that Tommy might be working to Sam at Merlotte’s soon enough, so watch out for that, ’cause that seems to be where all truly terrible people end up at one time or another. (Note: Hands off Arlene, too, buddy. She’s with child.)

Marybeth in Laurel, Md.: Anything good coming up for Tara on True Blood?
That depends on your definition of good. Rutina Wesley tells us our ever-troubled bartender “is gonna struggle with this vampire lover named Franklin Mott. He’s very psychological and very hard. So this relationship is not necessarily by choice.” Probably not your definition of good, huh? One thing you don’t have to worry about? Tara becoming a vamp herself. “Probably not,” she says. “I love being human. It’s like I’m one of the only humans on the show!”

A recaps from episode 3.03 of True Blood, which aired last night.

Last weeks killer episode set up some great plot points for the rest of this season and in my opinion was far superior to the premiere. This week’s episode continued the set up and really had a lot to do with one thing: Very uncomfortable sex scenes. The last scene at the end with bill and Lorena was pretty eww, but more on that later it’s time to recap:

The episode started seconds after the end of the last with Sookie shooting her gun at the werewolf and Eric jumping in front of it to stop it. Apparently they need him alive so that he can tell them where Bill is, but something tells me Eric had some selfish reasons for taking a bullet to the stomach. After some fighting and drinking of Eric’s blood, Sookie manages to shoot the were in the leg and Eric pins him down. Eric asks him whom he is working for but it is Sookie who gets to answer, courtesy of her telepathy. She hears him say “Jackson” right before Eric spots his Operation Werewolf tattoo and kills him. So much for getting answers. Eric apologizes for getting blood on her carpet and they bury him outside. Sookie tells Eric about the whole “Jackson” situation and he seems convinced he meant Jackson, Mississippi. Both of them agree that Bill is in Mississippi, but Eric warns Sookie against trying to get him back alone. Walking alone into Mississippi to get Bill from a house guarded by werewolves and vampires equals not a very smart idea for a human.

Latest scoop from Ausiello!

Question: Season 3 has barely started, but I am dying for some True Blood news. Got any to share? —Kelly
Ausiello: Exec producer Alan Ball teases that a big secret Bill’s “been carrying with him gets revealed at the end of the season.” That noise you hear is the sound of me dipping into the Ausiello Files archives and going Hmm…

Question:
Have you received confirmation from Alan Ball that Talbot and Eric will get, ahem, down to business on True Blood this season? —Rob
Ausiello: No, but I haven’t received a denial from him, either. “I think one of the things about being a vampire and living for 100 years is you pretty much try everything,” Ball says. “Whether or not [Talbot and Eric] end up getting together I can’t reveal. I’ll definitely tell you that this season is pretty pansexual.” Yeah, got that bit from the first two episodes.

True Blood seems to be not-so-subtly foreshadowing a Sookie-Eric hookup. When will it happen? — Karrie
MICKEY: We’re guessing it’ll be soon, because once Sookie finds out what Bill is up to over at the king’s manor house, she is going to be more than ready for some “passionate, primal sex.”

What did you think of this week’s ‘True Blood’? Are you digging all the new characters? Are you looking forward to hanging out in Wolf Country this season?

Here is a recap of last night’s episode ‘Beautifully Broken’.

It was a regal thrashing on the ‘Beautifully Broken’ episode of ‘True Blood‘ Sunday night, where we met a fresh batch of troublemakers for Season 3, including the wicked werewolves, a shady new set of shape shifters, and the surprising orchestrator of Bill Compton’s abduction.

We’re entering a new kingdom of WTF?, Trubies, so put your fangs away and show some respect to the King!

Majestic Musings and Mad Monopolies
Turns out the Bill-napper is none other than one of his own: The 3000-year-old Vampire King of Mississippi, Russell Edgington, who makes a regal entrance galloping in on a white horse, and yes, I suppose we are still to consider him a threat after that. Although it’s tough while Bill is making a snack–literally with an ear in his mouth!–out of the king’s henchman–those werewolves affectionately known as the ‘F*#k You Crew.’ Except one is named Cooter, which gives us a rare moment of humor from the usually stone-cold dead-serious Bill Compton. His majesty invites Bill back to his pad for a little chat–and that’s an order.

And so Bill finds himself tuxed up for a lovely dinner party hosted by the King and his minion Talbot, who’s a cross between Martha Stewart and Tim Gunn. Those southern folk sure know how to throw a dinner party. On the menu for the elegant three-course, ‘cruelty-free’ vampire feast: fizzy vampire ‘champagne’ with a ‘citrus finish,’ warm blood bisque soup infused with rose petals, all polished off with a tasty blood orange sorbet.

Back to bloody business, the king has all kinds of plans, like having his eye on Queen Sophie, trouncing territories, and making Bill the Vampire Sheriff of Area 2. He also hints that Bill isn’t just hanging out in the sleepy tortured town of Bon Temps just because of a certain doe-eyed mind-reading waitress; he seems to think Bill is working on behalf of the Queen. Look for more on that juicy development! Anyway, the King wants Bill to accept his proposal, and–of course–threatens his precious Sookie in the process, leaving Bill royally screwed once again.

Solid silver bedroom doors aren’t the only weakness the King has in his arsenal to hold Bill hostage and make him break to accept his indecent proposal either: Russell’s in cahoots with Lorena, that chick with the annoying southern drawl who won’t let go of her undead feelings for Bill. She shows up to dinner in full-on riding gear, clearly invited by the King but clearly unwanted by Bill, who hurls a lantern at her head and sets her ablaze in screaming horror. Their love went up in flames years ago, but surely this isn’t the last we’ve seen of Bill’s maker.

There will continue to be blood – on ‘True Blood‘ – now that HBO has officially renewed its fangs-tastic drama series for a 12-episode fourth season.

“The new season of ‘True Blood’ is off to a terrific start, as enthusiasm for this unique show continues to build among both subscribers and critics,” HBO programming chief Michael Lombardo said in announcing the pick-up. “We’re looking forward to more chills from [series creator] Alan Ball and his gifted team next year.”

Ball in turn says, “I am beyond thrilled to be able to continue working with this amazing cast and crew. This is the most fun I have ever had.”

‘True Blood’ kicked off its third season on June 13 by delivering an audience of 5.1 million total viewers, a gain of 38 percent from its Season 2 opener.

Season 4 will begin production early next year in Los Angeles, with a debut set for summer 2011.

In the words of Anna Paquin herself, vampires are “sexy, dangerous, and good-looking” and that’s why it was no surprise that in the HBO hit “True Blood” her character, Sookie, fell for the handsome vampire, Bill Compton, played by Stephen Moyer.

But the romance doesn’t stop there for these two as the co-stars got engaged last summer. The usually private actress opens up in about her personal life, including filming those infamous nude scenes, going blonde, and her relationship with Stephen, in July’s issue of Self Magazine.

Although the actress has starred in several motion pictures, fame has really hit the star since “True Blood” premiered in 2008. But in order to cope with the paparazzi frenzy, Anna explains, “I’ve had to stop caring what people I don’t know and will never meet think about me.” And it seems to be working for her because she took the same approach to the coming out of her bisexuality. “I understand why it’s a big deal to some people, but to me, it’s not,” adding, “I’m comfortable with who I am, and it’s not an issue.”

And since the leading woman of Bon Temps is at ease with who she is, it’s no wonder she found the nude scenes to be “less stressful.” “I’m quite comfortable with being naked,” she told Self . But don’t get us wrong, Anna still works hard at getting that great body of hers, juggling shooting scenes with swimming, running, boxing, taking Pilates and hitting the gym. Boy does she sound busy!

It’s all for the love of the show, which she says isn’t for kids because of “sucking and screwing all the time,” and the love for her character, Sookie. “She’s a tough, fit, kick-ass Southern girl who is equally as comfortable in a pretty floral print dress as she is beating the crap out of somebody. I love her as a role model of femininity.” She also went blonde for the role, attesting, “it’s true that people stare at blonde girls more than quasi-famous brunettes.”

But if there’s one thing she’s not comfortable with, it’s mixing her job with her personal life, which is why she tried to keep her relationship with Stephen Moyer secret for 10 months. “You don’t want to bring personal stuff to work,” she confessed. But she quickly added, “it’s a luxury to get to go to work with the person I want to spend the rest of my life with, because I love my job and I’m really happy.”

What do you think of Anna’s Self cover? Does it surprise you how open she is about her sexuality? Do you agree that Sookie is a good role model? Why or why not?

Anna Paquin regrets her decision to drink sugar-free fake blood on the set of her vampire TV show – because the low-calorie substitute left her feeling sick.

The actress plays a vampire’s girlfriend in True Blood and the show’s storylines often see her feasting on a red corn syrup mixture which has long been used in movies and TV. Paquin admits she was delighted when producers offered her a sugar-free alternative, but soon regretted her decision.

She tells Self magazine, “I get a kick out it, but the actual blood makes me want to gag! It’s kind of a sweet corn syrup, I think, with an aftertaste that’s less than pleasant after the 10th take. In season one, they asked me if I wanted sugar or sugar-free. I was like, ‘Sugar-free blood? Sounds great!’”

“It only tastes like the latex tubes it’s coming through. By the next scene I was feeding ravenously… so I drank probably a gallon. Never again!”

True Blood beauty Anna Paquin says she gets a ‘kick’ out of drinking pretend blood on the show.

Paquin, 27, who is engaged to co-star Stephen Moyer, has had to drink vampire blood several times on set but admitted she doesn’t mind as she secretly enjoys it.

She told Self magazine: “I get a kick out of it, but the actual blood makes me want to gaga! It’s some kind of sweet corn syrup, I think, with an aftertaste that’s less than pleasant after the 10th take. In season one, they asked me if I wanted sugar or sugar-free.”
